French
Our students learn a basic language competance, knowledge of the language and a cultural understanding.

La raison c'est la folie du plus fort. La raison du moins fort c'est de la folie.

In KS3 all students study French. Most students have 1 lesson a week, some have 2 lessons a week. We cover all 4 skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

In KS4 students have the option to continue with French. We follow the AQA syllabus, where the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking all have equal weighting. Speaking and writing are assessed by controlled assessments which are completed as an integral part of the teaching and learning. Reading and listening are completed as formal exams at the end of Y11.
