Cathy Waller
Alongside completing her professional training at LABAN in London, Cathy co-founded the street dance theatre company; Surge in 2006. Surge Dance Theatre toured the U.K, performing in over 40 venues including Sadlers Wells, Barbican, Hammersmith Apollo and Wembley. As a choreographer Cathy has produced work for the BBC, Move-it, Street Dance Championships and has choreographed for Breakin’ Convention at Sadler’s Wells for 4 consecutive years.
Cathy currently teaches classes and workshops across the U.K as well as choreographing work for touring companies and youth projects. Cathy is resident choreographer for Dance Offensive based in Cambridge and Addict Dance Studios based in Leicester.
Cathy’s classes focus on strong dynamics and high energy movement that combine vibrant articulation from music. Commercial and hip hop elements are drawn upon including the use of lockin, waving and voguing techniques.
